Mom Allegedly Kills Two Toddlers In Exorcism Ritual

Exorcism deaths alleged: A Maryland woman allegedly killed her two young children while performing an exorcism according to Montgomery County police. Her two other older children were injured and are receiving treatment at a local hospital. Police have also arrested another woman, 21, who was allegedly involved.

The toddlers were tragically pronounced dead at the scene from multiple wounds.

The two children who died, a boy and a girl ages 1 and 2, were fatally stabbed. Police were summoned to the home on Friday morning after a neighbor called 911 to report suspicious activity. “A neighbor called 911 after noticing a vehicle with the door open and a knife laying outside of the vehicle. [The mother] was arrested when authorities say she tried to flee from a townhouse near the vehicle. Police found the two children dead inside the home, and their siblings and [the other woman] were taken to the hospital with injuries.”

Police told CNN that “Investigators have learned that the two defendants believed that they were performing an exorcism. The investigation into this motive and other aspects of the crime continue at this point.”

The alleged exorcism occurred in Germantown, Maryland, about 25 miles outside of Washington, D.C.

Apparently police responded to the home the day before on a report of an unattended child in a car. No one was around when officers arrived, however.

The mother of the children, age 28, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. The other woman who allegedly was involved in the incident was released from the hospital and faces similar charges. Both are in police custody without bond. The law enforcement investigation into this horrific incident is ongoing.

Of this alleged exorcism-related murder in Maryland, Montgomery County Police Chief Tom Manger said “Cases like this are heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims along with the 911 operators, police officers, evidence technicians, and fire and EMS personnel that responded.”

Added Capt. Marcus Jones of the county’s major crimes unit about the alleged exorcism deaths, “This was all about what was in their minds. They felt like there was something bad going on with the children, and they were trying to release it.”
