Amber Heard, Johnny Depp Engaged? Rumors Claim Engagement Ring

Are Johnny Depp and Amber Heard engaged? Maybe, maybe not, but there’s been a possible engagement ring sighting…

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, rumors like these even claimed Ashley Benson engaged after spotting a flashy ring on a certain finger. But a quick check of recent photos revealed it was just the tabloid rumor mill at work since Benson apparently tended to wear various rings on the wedding band finger.

According to E! Online this is what sparked the whole rumor:

“Despite a good effort to keep her left hand covered, an eagle-eyed paparazzo got a bird’s-eye view of what appeared to be a diamond ring on that ringer as Heard was leaving a restaurant [on Monday night] in Los Angeles.”

Another source claims the two are definitely off the market:

“It happened on Christmas Eve. Amber really took her time to make up her mind. She turned him down before, before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time.”

But one source says the “platinum, black pearl and diamond design” is not necessarily an engagement ring but instead is a “commitment ring” with an inscription on the inside including a love note from Depp to Heard. Whatever the truth is, we’re unlikely to be told until it’s completely official and the wedding details already planned out. Amber is notorious for desiring her privacy and doesn’t want to be tabloid fodder:

“It’s not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don’t want to be a celebrity. You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub.”

While they’re definitely dating, Johnny and Amber have only been together for a short while compared to Depp’s 14 year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, who has already moved on herself. Still, despite the short length of time they’ve been together sources claim Depp is loving life:

“No one’s seen him this head-over-heels ever, he’s like a different guy. All his angst has gone and for once he seems anchored and happy. They’re starring in a film together later this year and wherever she goes, he goes. They’re never apart for long now.”
