Brian Schweitzer, Possible Presidential Candidate, Has Nothing Good To Say About Obama

Outspoken Democrat Brian Schweitzer — who is thinking about running for President in 2016 — has nothing good to say about what President Obama has done in the past five years.

The former Governor of Montana is positioning himself as a contender against the current administration’s policies.

Schweitzer says, in a recent interview with MSNBC that Obamacare doesn’t go far enough to convert the US health coverage to a single-payer system, based on the Canadian model

“I’m a little bit like Michael Moore. I suppose I’m a Democrat, and I ought to roll over like a fat dog and get scratched by the pharmaceutical and insurance companies because, gee, we have to apologize for so-called Obamacare. I’m not going to apologize a damn bit.”

Brian Schweitzer has been acting like a potential candidate for president, visiting Iowa and criticizing the purported Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton.

Schweitzer didn’t leave any doubts as to where he stands when it comes to the current leader of his party, Barack Obama and after taking a long time thinking about it, had this to say when asked to name a single positive thing the President has done:

“My mother, God rest her soul, told me ‘Brian, if you can’t think of something nice to say about something, change the subject.'”

The Democrat didn’t mince words calling the NSA surveillance scandal “un-effing-believable”, saying that the Obama administration hasn’t “been very good at running things” and predicting Obamacare will “collapse on its own weight.”

Even though Brian Schweitzer recognized the significance of Obama becoming the first black President of the United States, he believes the President’s usefulness ended the day he took the oath of office.

Experts don’t think Schweitzer’s candidacy — if it happens — will amount to much as he is not what Democrat primary voters find appealing.

Hillary Clinton may have not announced she is running in 2016 yet, but donors are at the ready to support the former First Lady and Secretary of State.

In 2009 President Obama visited Montana while promoting his healthcare reform, then Governor Brian Schweitzer introduced him praising the single-payer Canadian system.

But Obama seemed to slight the Governor when he said

“I’m not in favor of a Canadian system, I’m not in favor of a British system, I’m not in favor of a French system. What we’ve said is, let’s find a uniquely American system.”

After the speech Obama and Brian Schweitzer had a talk, according to the Governor, during which the President said his comments were not helpful in the healthcare debate and asking him to step aside. The White House denies the account.
