Rihanna Still Singing About Chris Brown In New Song

Rihanna chucked Chris Brown to the side for good last April, but that doesn’t mean she’s done with singing about their relationship. In a new song called “Can’t Remember to Forget You” Rihanna has raised a red flag that she’s still thinking about Brown, while singing about “mistakes” of her past.

This isn’t the first time Rihanna has been accused of singing a song about her contentious relationship with ex Chris Brown, but these lyrics in the crooner’s new song are too obvious to ignore.

Check out some of the lyrics in Rihanna’s new song:

“I go back again / Fall off the train / Land in his bed.”

Other lines to Rihanna’s new Chris Brown song talk about repeating yesterday’s mistakes, but one particular line stands out above the rest as the singer croons, “I never seemed to act so stupid.” Looks like Rihanna knows exactly what kind of effect Brown had over how she conducted herself publicly and privately.

Of course Rihanna and Chris Brown had a very turbulent relationship, which started as a R&B fairytale but quickly halted when Brown assaulted her after a Grammys function in 2009. Once photos leaked by TMZ of Rihanna’s battered face, the public turned against Brown, who was on a fast track to be the next king of R&B. Since the photos and other incidents in the public eye, Brown has failed to recapture his innocent image or win back those who supported him in his career.

As for Rihanna she has turned her on and off relationship with Brown into a healing process in the public eye by singing about domestic violence in the Eminem song “Love the Way You Lie.”

On her album Unapologetic she uses many violent metaphors like “Felt like love struck me in the night/ I prayed that love don’t strike twice” and “Boy, I just wanna be in your possession.”

Intentional or not it’s hard to ignore the Chris Brown factor in Rihanna’s career.
