Mother Of Four, Molly Schuyler, Eats 72oz Steak In 3 Minutes To Smash World Record

Molly Schuyler, a 34-year-old mother of four, has smashed the world record for speed-eating by devouring a 72oz steak in less than 3 minutes.

The Nebraska native ate the hefty meal at Portland’s Sayler’s Old Country Kitchen on January 3, and her effort officially clocked in at just 2 minutes and 44 seconds.

Schuyler has since uploaded a video of her endeavor to YouTube, and it shows her inhaling the huge slice of beef with her hands rather than a knife and fork, which is probably how more graceful diners would have attempted to eat it.

The previous record used to belong to an individual who was described as a “body building huge man.” He only managed to eat the meal in 6 minutes and 48 seconds.

Amazingly, Mrs Schuyler even had room to eat some french fries and take a drink of water after she had demolished her steak dinner.

Schuyler has had a rather impressive start to 2014. Just a day before, she also smashed another world record by eating a 12lb sandwich and 1lb of French fries in just 54 minutes, which saw her awarded $650.

This task took place at the Mad Greek Deli Challenge in Portland, and she was not only the first woman to complete this competition, but she was just the third person to do so.

Schuyler is able to complete these feats despite only weighing 120 pounds, and she is now regarded as one of the world’s top-ranked female competitive eaters.

Discussing her super-human efforts, Schuyler told KPTV, “[It’s] an unexplained phenomenon; I was just born that way. I started doing this about a year ago, and I guess it’s like a stupid human trick.”

Schuyler revealed that she’s been able to devour large amounts of food since she was a child, explaining that she used to out eat her siblings at buffets too.

She remarked, “We did that so much as kids, we kind of battled it out. We’ve always ate big.” Her husband, Sean, also supported her talents, stating that she is “amazing when it comes to eating.”

Schuyler revealed that she will use the money that she has earned to pay for her trip back to Omaha, Nebraska.
