LuAnn de Lesseps Fights Bravo Over ‘Real Housewives Of New York’ Season 6 Salary

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps has been fighting Bravo over Real Housewives Of New York Season 6 Salary and the results apparently weren’t in her favor.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, de Lesseps started flying solo after splitting with her boyfriend.

Some of the various people involved in the Real Housewives reality TV series rake in the big bucks for allowing everyone to watch their lives. For example, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice makes $600,000 per season. Tying in at second place, Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps and Romona Singer each bring home $500,000 per season.

Although LuAnn de Lesseps’ net worth is estimated at $2 million, apparently that wasn’t an income of half a million was considered not enough despite the average Real Housewives salary being closer $65,000. Singer agreed with her on that note and desired a 50 percent salary increase. According to an unnamed source, this led to long term dispute with Bravo management:

“There’s a lot of expenses that go into being on the show and they’re not frivolous. The cast asked for a modest increase— enough so they can cover the costs and make a little money. Another source close to the cast said they’d been negotiating individually, but then ‘banded together’ for leverage— and that’s when Bravo had enough.”

Did that have an effect on Real Housewives Of New York Season 6? Although no one has claimed as such, the facts are that Countess LuAnn de Lesseps will only appears in some of the episodes and will no longer be a regular member of the cast. There are even rumors that de Lesseps agreed to a cut — not an increase — in her salary in order to even stay on the show at all. Whatever the case may be, LuAnn claims these decisions were made due to friends and family, not money:

“The show has been a part of my life for so long. There’s a special place in my heart for the show, for the women, I’m really close to the women on the show. I just made the decision to step back so I can spend more time doing my things with business and my family. It’s a win-win for me. I’m still on the show. I’m still very much a part of the show, but it’s not a full-time thing.
