Wedding proposal sweeps wife off her feet and ends with drowning

A 22 year old woman is missing, presumed drowned after being swept of her feet by a marriage proposal, literally.

Scott Napper had taken Leafil Alforque to Proposal Rock near Neskowin Beach, Oregon to propose. The two had been dating since hooking up online in 2005, although Alforque had only just arrived in Oregon from the Philippines.

As they approached the rock, a wave “about 3 feet high” hit the couple, with Alforque being swept out to sea, as her 4-foot-11 and 93 pounds wasn’t enough to keep her upright.

The search for the body was called off Monday due to bad weather. Police don’t suspect foul play.
