Kanye West’s Air Yeezys Won’t Hit Foot Locker This Week
Kanye West’s Air Yeezys 2 won’t arrive at Foot Locker this Friday.
Fans who’d hoped to spend some of their Christmas cash on the rapper’s collaboration with Nike will have to wait a while longer. Although Foot Locker previously tweeted that the kicks would arrive on December 27, that date was apparently yanked on Christmas Eve.
News of the release date cancellation arrived courtesy of the official Foot Locker Twitter page. Unfortunately, it’s currently unknown when fans can expect to get their hands on Kanye West’s Air Yeezys 2 at the moment. Since the year is getting ready to wrap up, folks may have to wait until next year.
Not surprisingly, the canceled release date hasn’t settled too well with people on Twitter. Since fans were more than willing to part with their cash for a pair of the shoes, the news ruffled more than a few feathers.
“You don’t care about black people,” one person tweeted following the announcement.
Fed up with the way Nike does business, Kanye West famously took his creative talents to Adidas. The rapper recently said that he spent a few days in Germany designing 20 brand new shoes. West also seems extremely happy with the way the company is presently treating him.
He explained:
“Man, it just feels good to be able to create more, create product that I can control the pricing on, that I can do quality control on and I feel very comfortable to have a great partner backing my ideas and allowing me to think and be creative and giving me that shot the same way how [Damon Dash] gave me a record deal ten years ago, gave me a shot and I was able to do something creative with it. This is a new opportunity for me, I feel like I got a new family, fiancée, child and a new creative outlet and as a creative person, you need those creative outlets.”
