Jack Nicholson Sent Jennifer Lawrence A ‘Sweet’ Note After Oscar Win

If you’ve been following Jennifer Lawrence, then you know that she has a penchant for falling into awkward but endearing moments. The Academy Awards wasn’t an exception, which resulted in Lawrence falling on the way to receive her award for Best Actress. However, what happened after she collected her award is what’s still making headlines.

As she was being interviewed by Good Morning America backstage, Lawrence was not so subtly hit on by Jack Nicholson, who at the time told the blushing actress that she looked like an old girlfriend. Lawrence, of course played along and replied, “Do I look like a new girlfriend?” Which made Nicholson reply, “I thought about it” before skipping off and leaving Lawrence shocked and probably a bit mortified.

Nearly a year later and Lawrence is almost over the shock, and has revealed that their awkward encounter didn’t stop there. Lawrence told ABC News that Nicholson followed the meeting up with flowers and a “sweet note.”

“He’s sent me flowers and a bottle of Cristal and a note that said ‘Missing you already.’ Not to brag. I should’ve probably kept that a secret so it could just be between me and Jack.”

No word on whether or not Jack Nicholson will be at this year’s Academy Awards to catch up with Lawrence, but we’re counting on the actress to be there. Lawrence has been receiving rave reviews for her performance in David O. Russell’s American Hustle, and many believe that this will be her second outing consecutively for her performance in a David O. Russell film. Her last collaboration with the director was last year’s Silver Linings Playbook.

Of course Nicholson isn’t the only person Jennifer Lawrence is charming. August: Osage County star Julia Roberts said Lawrence is “too cool” to be America’s Sweetheart. As for her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, he thinks that she’s “incredible. I’ve been so lucky to do two movies with her back-to-back. She’s the best. I feel like I got in on the ground floor. I’ll be lucky if I work with her again.”

Looks like Jack Nicholson has some pretty tough competition.
