Did Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes break up? Internet rumors and social media speculation suggest that the singers have gone their separate ways.
The whole story is a little strange, so it’s okay if you lose the thread of this narrative at some point along way. According to MTV UK, the whole thing started during Grande’s interview on the Florida radio station 93.3 FLZ. When asked about her famous boyfriend, Ariana reportedly dropped what sounded like a bombshell.
“You’re a little behind. We’re really good friends,” she recently told Brian Fink.
As soon as the interview hit the internet, fans of Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes went insane. Twitter was soon flooded with comments about the alleged breakup, though no one really seems to know if the pair really decided to call it quits.
Entertainmentwise reports that Ariana attempted to set the record straight during a chat with OMG! UK. According to the singer, she was referring to someone else during her chat with the Florida radio station. In fact, Grande was apparently talking about her ex-boyfriend Jai Brooks of The Janoskians.
Of course, the “really good friends” line is definitely a bit odd considering the two are currently in the middle of a nasty feud. Brooks suggested that his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with The Wanted singer.
“Yes I was cheated on. Yes it does suck. Yes I was left for another man. And this happens everyday to so many people of every age, gender, race,” he recently explained on Twitter.
Brooks added, “I happen to be one of those people and I’m in a situation where I am constantly reminded of it every day. Like anyone who has been cheated on, it has been tough for me but I’m finally ready to move on.”
Jai wrote that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Ariana Grande when she found her way into the arms of Nathan Sykes. In his post, Brooks told Nathan that he’d better hold onto Grande’s hand extra tight because he was essentially “holding my world.”
“Nathan may be a top bloke or a sweet person, but what he did was just completely wrong. He interfered with my life and did not respect my relationship, his actions caused me to not be able to sleep at night and not see the world as a beautiful place,” Brooks said.
