Teleka Patrick: Michigan Doctor Disappears After Mysterious Phone Call

Teleka Patrick was seen on surveillance camera walking into the Radisson Plaza Hotel, the last time the 30-year-old Michigan doctor was seen before vanishing without a trace.

The disappearance of Patrick has the Kalamazoo community shocked, and friends and family are launching efforts to locate the doctor after more than two weeks missing.

Family members said Teleka received a suspicious phone call the day before her disappearance, one that appeared to upset her, but police have not released details of the call or who it may have come from.

This week new evidence was released in the disappearance of Teleka Patrick, including a video that shows her leaving the hotel after failing to get a room and being driven a few blocks away to her car in the Borgess Medical Center parking lot.

That was the last time she would be seen alive. Her car was found two days later, off a highway in Indiana. Police found no trace of Teleka nearby, however.

An FBI notice on Patrick’s disappearance read:

“On that same evening, Thursday, December 5, 2013, at approximately 10:00 p.m. (EST), Dr. Patrick’s vehicle, a light-gold 1997 Lexus ES 300, was found abandonded off the roadway in a ditch with a possible flat tire on I-94, mile marker 23, in Porter, Indiana. Dr. Patrick’s belongings were in the car, to include clothing items, a wallet that contained her driver’s license, credit cards, and a small amount of cash. Dr. Patrick failed to report to her regular shift at work the next day. Dr. Patrick has not been heard from since this time.”

Her friends and family members are now trying to take the search for Teleka Patrick national, with a Facebook group dedicated to her disappearance and a YouTube video from her family talking about Teleka.

As the details were release, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department went quiet on the case, saying on Friday afternoon: “At this point in the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will not be making anymore comments, nor will it field any inquiries regarding the status of the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office will issue statements as they become necessary.”
