Kansas Bomb Suspect Terry Lee Loewen In Jail Over WMD Suicide Bomber Plot

Kansas bomb suspect Terry Lee Loewen is in jail over an alleged WMD terrorist bombing plot.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, an Air France bomb threat was thought to be tied to Muslim terrorist groups. And some Alabama terrorism suspects were sentenced to jail.

Loewen was indicted on “charges of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to destroy property with an explosive device and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.” The avionics technician worked for an aviation business near Wichita Mid-Continent Airport and he allegedly concocted a plan to plant a bomb there.

The judge in the case felt the Kansas bomb suspect was a fleeing risk, so Loewen was ordered to stay in jail until his trial. Loewen is a Muslim and his own words was the primary evidence used in making this determination. When speaking to undercover FBI agents, the Kansas bombing suspect said he wanted to wage “violent jihad” in America. He apparently has a deep-seated hatred of the US government and he wanted to shoot military pilots and plant explosives.

Worse, he was even considering becoming a suicide bomber in order to carry out his plan. The Kansas bomb suspect wanted to drive a van full of explosives into the airport and then detonate it remotely. Once the crowds began to gather and run away from the carnage he’d find a spot with the most people and then detonate a suicide vest he would be wearing himself.

The Kansas bomb suspect even left a note to his family, dated December 11, that explained his terrorist plot:

“By the time you read this I will – if everything went as planned – have been martyred in the path of Allah. There will have been an event at the airport which I am responsible for. The operation was timed to cause maximum carnage + death.”

But Loewen’s defense lawyers are claiming the man “wanted to walk away” and “it’s the FBI employee who then talks him back into the criminal plot… they drew him back in. They made sure that he wasn’t going to leave.” Reports say the lawyers are trying to make the Kansas bomb suspect out as a “victim” of entrapment, although they haven’t used that legal term quite yet. They claim there’s no direct link to al Qaeda, or any other Islamic terrorist groups, but the judge believes Loewen is acting as a “lone wolf terrorist.”

What do you make of the arguments made by the defense for the Kansas bomb suspect Terry Lee Loewen?
