Bristol Palin Supports Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson With Facebook ‘I’m With Phil’ Photo

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, it shouldn’t be surprising that Bristol would take such a stand considering Sarah Palin has already gone public in defense of Phil.

This is what Sarah had to say:

“Free speech is an endangered species. Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us.”

When it comes to Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson is pretty the mainstay and some people say they watch the show primarily because of the star of the reality TV show. So when A&E announced they were suspending Phil everyone was fairly shocked.

But shock turned to anger against A&E and Duck Dynasty fans began petitioning the network as well as threatening a boycott. Faith Driven Consumer, an organization connecting Christian consumers with faith-compatible companies, launched the IStandWithPhil.com petition. Their petition calls the A&E network’s “intolerant, discriminatory, and punitive treatment” of the Duck Dynasty star to be discriminatory and biased against Christians. They say, “A&E’s position, which in your own words is ‘championing’ the gay and lesbian community… effectively censors a legitimate viewpoint held by the majority of Americans.”

Many people started to change their Facebook profile photos to Phil’s face, with many sporting a message defending the Duck Dynasty family. And Bristol Palin was among them, with her Facebook photo saying, “I support Phil Robertson and his right to express his faith and his beliefs. Shame on A&E.”:

So far she’s garnered over half a million likes for the Phil Robertson photo. But Bristol’s usage of Facebook to oppose homosexuality, and support Christian believers, is actually not new. She criticized President Obama heavily for listening to his daughters when it came to his “evolving” position on homosexuality:

“So let me get this straight – it’s a problem if my mom listened too much to my dad, but it’s a heroic act if the President made a massive change in a policy position that could affect the entire nation after consulting with his teenage daughters? In this case, it would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while their friends’ parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids’ worldview. Sometimes dads should lead their family in the right ways of thinking. In this case, it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.”
