Marie Osmond Welcomes First Grandchild Just In Time For Christmas

Marie Osmond has become a a grandmother and the little bundle arrives just in time for Christmas to the delight of family.

The singer excitedly announced the big news on her Twitter account on Wednesday night:

“Hey everyone…..I just became a GRANDMA!!!!!!!!”

Marie Osmond later added for all who were wondering:

“It’s a boy.”

In June, Osmond announced the big news on The Talk. This is the first grandchild for the 54-year-old and is the firstborn of her eldest son Stephen Craig and wife Claire.

No details on baby name, time of birth or weight of Marie Osmond’s grandson are available at this time, but the new grandma couldn’t be happier.

Marie Osmond remarried Stephen’s dad in 2011, after divorcing her second husband in 2007. The couple had been divorced since 1985 and the singer thought she would never marry again.

“He’s the love of my life, my best friend and supports everything I do.” Osmond told Katie Couric in an appearance on her talk show.

When she made the original announcement that her son would make her a grandma in June, Osmond shared how she found out about the big event:

“I’m going to be a grandma. And I just can’t wait. We went in for my son – for his birthday – he turned 30, which is amazing cause I’m 29. He blew out the candles and then blew me away and said, ‘You’re going to be a grandma!’ So, it’s really fun.”

In 1976, when she was only 17-years-old the Donny and Marie show made its debut, propelling the brother and sister pair into stardom.

Today Marie Osmond is once again back on stage with her brother, who himself is a grandfather of six at 56, on their Christmas tour.
