Xoom Gets Android 3.1 Update, Brings Much Faster Speeds

The Google Android 3.1 update was pushed out to Motorola Xoom users today and as promised the update makes the mobile tablet faster. With the upgrade apps load much faster, transitions are noticeably faster and the browser has ‘iPad-like responsiveness.”

USB support is also provided for mouse support, while scroll wheels on mice with that option should also work on the Xoom. Also supported is widget resizing.

On the movies app side Electronista states that it’s

“Somewhat disappointing as it amounts to a management app that kicks users to Android Market when they’re ready to rent and either stream or download. MicroSD card support also still isn’t in place, even three months after the Xoom reached stores.”

More Android 3.1 tablets will arrive in the next two weeks.
