Free Shipping Day 2013: Last Chance For Online Christmas Shopping Deals

Free shipping day 2013 falls on December 18, and it really is your last chance for online Christmas shopping deals.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, people looking to save money or get out of debt are looking for the best credit cards offering cash back rewards.

In 2013, retailers wanted to start the holiday shopping earlier on Thanksgiving Day, and offered month long November deals instead of waiting until later. The reason this became an issue in 2013 is because of a fluke in the calendar. Because Thanksgiving and Black Friday started so late in the month, there were actually six less shopping days when compared to 2012.

Online retailers have it even tougher since the time it takes for packages to ship often makes the choice for consumers over whether they hit the mall or click their way to their next purchase. Many online retailers are offering free shipping day 2013 as a way to grab those last minute shoppers. The free shipping offers are good with no minimum purchase, and they guarantee your package will arrive by December 24, just in the (saint) nick of time.

But if you let free shipping day pass, the various post office carriers have deadlines set for Christmas Day delivery.

Tuesday, December 17: Amazon’s free standard shipping and FedEx’s ground shipping stop having reindeer shipments.

Wednesday, December 18: Amazon’s last day for paid standard shipping to make it for Christmas.

Friday, December 20: The Post Office’s standard, first-class mail doesn’t guarantee Christmas delivery beyond this point.

Saturday, December 21: This is the last day for Amazon’s expedited shipping, the post office’s priority, UPS’s shipping, and FedEx’s 2-day.

Christmas Week: You’re pushing your luck at this point. Unfortunately, FedEx is your only option. You’ll need to choose Overnight shipping by December 23 or same-day shipping on Christmas Day (really… you waited that long?). Just be aware these options are very expensive.

The only good news is that brick and mortar retailers will be offering heavy discounts right up until Christmas day. So, if you miss free shipping day 2013, then it’s possible Christmas Eve may actually be your best bet for finding the best deals.
