Nicki Minaj Finds Her Name On Forbes’ Highest Paid Women In Music List

Nicki Minaj found her way onto Forbes magazine’s Highest Paid Women in Music 2013 list.

Although the rapper hasn’t released an album since last year, that didn’t stop her from making quite a bit of money over the past twelve months. According to XXL, Minaj managed to scrape together an impressive $29 million during 2013.

Here’s the funny part: Nicki Minaj made as much money as rival and fellow American Idol judge and Mariah Carey. This probably doesn’t settle very well for the “Emotions” singer, especially since the pair don’t see eye to eye these days.

How did Nicki Minaj make so much money in 2013 if she didn’t have a new collection of songs sitting prominently on retail shelves? Forbes noted that the rapper made approximately $12 million from her single season stint on American Idol. She also collected a fair amount of cash from album sales.

However, this wasn’t the only way Minaj generated a healthy dose of scratch over the course of 2013. The Inquisitr previously reported that the rapper teamed up with Beats by Dre to put together something called the “Pink Pros” headphones. One guess what color they are.

How much can a Nicki Minaj fan expect to pay for a pair of their very own pink headphones? The suggested retail price is presently perched at $399. Of course, Beats Headphones insists that you get what you pay for when you plunk down your cash for their products.

If that wasn’t enough, the rapper also has her very own Kmart clothing line. Although the prices for these fashionable garments aren’t nearly as over-the-top as her pink headphones, Minaj definitely rakes in tons of cash from these items. As you can tell, the woman has her fingers in all sorts of successful entrepreneurial pies.

Nicki Minaj isn’t the only woman crafting music who made a significant amount of cash during 2013. Madonna topped the Forbes list with $125 million, while her spiritual successor Lady Gaga generated approximately $80 million. Taylor Swift landed in third with $55 million, and Beyonce took the fourth spot with $53 million.

Rounding out the list are Jennifer Lopez ($45 million), Rihanna ($43 million), Katy Perry ($39 million), Pink ($32 million), and Sound of Music remake star Carrie Underwood ($31 million). Of course, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj tied for tenth place on this year’s list.

Are you a fan of rapper and former American Idol judge Nicki Minaj? What do you think about the amount of cash she generated over the course of 2013?
