Lil Wayne’s Ex-Wife Toya Wright Arrested In Georgia
Lil Wayne’s ex-wife allegedly found herself in a world of trouble over unpaid parking tickets.
Antonia “Toya” Wright was reportedly arrested earlier this week in Georgia for ignoring all the citations she’s received in recent months. Since Wright seemed incapable of paying for these tickets, police decided to place her under arrest.
According to the folks at Eurweb, police discovered that Lil Wayne’s ex-wife and her mountain of unpaid parking tickets during a routine traffic stop on Tuesday (December 10). Although she was reportedly arrested at the scene, Wright was later released. Her manager claimed the whole thing was nothing more than a simple misunderstanding.
“(It was) based on something that was paid for but wasn’t cleared out of the system. We’re currently going over it with the lawyers,” Corey Blackwell explained following Wright’s release.
However, this isn’t the only version of the story that’s floating around the internet right now. TMZ reports that Lil Wayne’s ex-wife landed in hot water after police noticed an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The warrant was reportedly issued after Wright failed to show up for a court date.
Toya was later released at around 1:30 am Wednesday on a $290 bond. Although the former reality TV star’s manager decided to weigh in on the situation, Wright wasn’t as quick to address the media.
The celebrity gossip website later caught up with Wright to discuss the time she spent behind bars. Judging from Toya’s comments about the experience, she had a particularly rough time in police custody. She also stated that the whole situation was the result of a speeding ticket that somehow slipped through cracks in the system.
Lil Wayne’s ex-wife said she witnessed some truly horrific things during her stint in jail. Since she believes several people were “inhumanely” handled by police, she wants to become an “advocate of better treatment for prisoners.” However, Wright didn’t delve into any specifics about how they were mistreated.
“I wouldn’t wish jail time for my worst enemy. What I witnessed was so bad that I don’t even want to leave the house right now,” Wright explained.
