Ellen DeGeneres Mocks ‘Star’ For Divorce Rumors: ‘I’m Very Happily Married’ [Video]

Ellen DeGeneres lashed out at Star magazine for claiming that her marriage to Portia de Rossi is falling apart.

The tabloid claimed that de Rossi became fed up with DeGeneres’ crush on Pamela Anderson. The rag also claimed that Anderson is all “Ellen talks about these days” and that it has “become a real issue for Portia.” As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, the magazine also called DeGeneres a “jealous control freak,” and said de Rossi was tired of her insecurities.

On Tuesday’s episode of Ellen, DeGeneres mocked the magazine for claiming that her marriage is in trouble. She said she usually doesn’t pay attention to tabloids, but just happened to see the Star issue while she was at the hair salon.

“I don’t want to say which one it was, but the cover says ‘Number 1 For Celebrity News,’ and obviously they would not lie about that,” she said.

She went on to say that she thought it was “sweet” that they were honoring her and de Rossi — until she read the headline, “Ellen & Portia Marriage Crumbles.” Needless to say, she was shocked by the claim.

“I was like, ‘Oh, what happened, they seemed so happy,'” she said. “And I was like, ‘Oh wait, I’m Ellen, I should know if that’s happening.'”

DeGeneres said she opened the magazine to read the article, but the page had been torn out. She never found out what the tabloid said was tearing her marriage apart.

“There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it. I’m very happily married,” she said. “In fact, the only thing we ever argue about is who loves who more.”

She added, “I know they have to fill a magazine every issues, every week but I don’t know how they can print lies like that.”

DeGeneres also joked that the sources are quoted as a “good friend,” which she said is ridiculous because good friends don’t run to tabloids.

“If they want to make it more believable they should at least say ‘Portia and Ellen’s marriage crumbles,’ according to a terrible, terrible friend,” she said.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married on August 16, 2008 at their home in Los Angeles. There were 19 guests in attendance, including their mothers. In 2010, de Rossi filed a petition to legally change her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres.
