Ohio Crash That Killed Couple On Thanksgiving Captured On Video

Ohio crash that killed couple on Thanksgiving capture on video.

The Ohio crash that killed a couple on Thanksgiving was captured on two police cruisers’ dash-cams and released on Tuesday.

In the video, the car responsible for the deadly collision on the Ohio Turnpike, drives by a police cruiser at high speed.

The footage of the crash was released by the Ohio State Patrol on Tuesday and it also shows how difficult it was for the troopers to catch up with the vehicle.

In one of the videos, a car is seen speeding past the right side of the patrol car and then disappearing ahead.

The video from the second police cruiser in the Ohio crash shows a trooper alerted to the speeding car, as he attempts to turn around to give chase, when the car speeds past it.

The police car tries and fails to catch up to the speeding car and about 10 minutes later comes upon the scene of a fiery crash involving two vehicles.

One of the troopers heads to the scene of the Ohio crash with a fire extinguisher and is heard yelling if witnesses, who had stopped to help, saw anyone inside the car.

Someone tells the police officer, a car passed him at “about 150 mph.”

Authorities say a 24-year-old man, identified as Andrew D. Gans, from Kent, Ohio suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

A couple in a van was killed, when Gans’ car slammed into them at about 125 mph.

Calls from drivers on the Ohio Turnpike started coming in at around 7 pm on Thursday, November 28, Thanksgiving day, saying that a 2013 Infinity was weaving in and out of traffic at speeds of 125 mph to 150 mph, in a 70 mph zone.

While officers attempted to catch Gans’ car, as shown on the footage from the dash-cams, they were unable to do so and he crashed into a 2009 Town & Country van killing a both occupants.

Gans’ was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. He will also undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Even though alcohol results were unavailable at the time of the Ohio crash, authorities believe that Gans was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The victims in the van were identified as Wilbur L. and Margaret A. McCoy, both age 77, from Toledo, Ohio and were on their way home from a Thanksgiving dinner.

The Ohio crash closed the Turnpike for hours in frigid temperatures, causing many drivers to suffer mechanical problems such as dead batteries.

This is just terrible. Because of the stupidity of one individual, two innocent souls were taken from this place. May they rest in peace.

the charge is outrageous. this is a clear cut case of premeditated murder. it has the implied malice written all over it.
the worthless pos should never see the light of day again

Vehicular homicide is not strong enough. This was reckless and displayed a total disregard for human lives. Those poor people were someone's beloved grandparents I'm sure. What a useless piece of trash. I hope he is in prison for a long time…

it figures the one who caused the devastation pretty much walks away, while 2 innocent lives are gone. Piece of crap.

Someone will probably want to hold the police responsible. The guy will probably get about 10 yrs and out in 5. That's how it usually works.

no its not. this is not much different than Paul walker going 90 MPH and crashing. Very sad to see though. The speeding driver should be charged with murder. Tossed in jail for 20 years.

So was paul walkers car. though he fortunately just killed himself and his driver, vs hitting another car like this moron did. You can thank movies like F.F. for this .

THis is not much different that Paul Walkers car crash. Both going nearly double the speed limit. Paul Walkers car could have just as easily hit another car or pedestrian. You can thank F.F. for this macho high speed crap.

Debora A. Carver Ellsworth … yes but they were both adrenalin junkies.. Lest we forget Pauls own words. "I'm trying to get a car to 400 mph". And Paul at any time coulda told his friend who was driving HIS car to slow the f- down.

And I say to you, "shut the f-up". You comparison is ridiculous………… kinda like your avatar.

Yea …just push the blame to anyone but the real culprit. I think it is totally ridiculous to claim a movie or a video game is to blame. This guy wasn't some innocent and susceptible little kid, he was a 24 year old adult who can afford to drive an Infinity. Also, not to defend Paul Wallker's actions, but this is completely different. This guy was warned and pursued by police and he blatantly disregarded it, which to me screams of conscious decision, not a spur of the moment impulsive slam on the gas pedal. Lastly, I don't understand your propensity to repeat the same comments million time…it sounds like you are trying to convince yourself, more than anyone else. Please don't assume that I don't understand your point of view. I also disagree with a lot of the values that are promoted by popular culture and Hollywood. But I don't think is OK to diminish the atrocity of this crime by factoring in some silly actor and a ridiculous movie. Even if that was the case, TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT….there is NO excuse for this crime.
