Vlingo Launches iPhone Voice Control App

Vlingo has finally launched an iPhone version of its powerful voice control application.

Previously catered to BlackBerry, Vlingo lets you speak out everything from text messages to e-mails and Web navigation commands — then it translates that into typed out action on your phone. Its latest version added support for spoken Twitter and Facebook updates and even the ability to have a message you speak read back to you aloud.

Now, Vlingo is up for grabs at the Apple App Store. It boasts all the same functions as the BlackBerry version as well as a specialized map lookup tool: You say, for example, “Find a dry cleaners in Seattle” — and you get a Google Map with all the local spots in place.

A demo video of the Vlingo iPhone app follows.
