Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada Names Father of Her Baby, Chad Johnson Responds
Basketball Wives’ star Evelyn Lozada dropped a big surprise on fans last week when she revealed that she is six months pregnant. However, once the shock dwindled, fans were still left with one burning question:
“Who is the father of the child?” Lozada initially opted to conceal her new beau’s identity in an effort to protect the privacy of their relationship.
But, it appears that she and the mystery father must have felt some kind of way, so they’ve decided to go public about everything.
The reality TV starlet has finally confirmed the rumor has been circulating for months now! The father of her unborn child is none other than her rumored boyfriend, Los Angeles Dodger star Carl Crawford.
E! News reports that Lozada shared the name of her child’s father in a recent interview with Yahoo! OMG! Then, she even went so far as to say she has no fears of tying the knot yet again.
“I definitely would get married again. I still believe in love…I’m not one of those people that’s like ‘we need to get engaged, we need to get married.’ No, absolutely not. I feel like that’s going to come, just like with the baby, let it come. I’m not forcing anything, so if it happens, it happens,” she says.
Lozada’s outlook on love is extremely admirable given her previous love affair and brief marriage with former NFL star Chad Johnson. The two had been dating for almost two years. However, their marriage only lasted approximately two months. Lozada and Johnson were involved in a high-profile domestic dispute that resulted in the dissolution of their marriage.
Lozada filed for divorce in September of 2012. While their marriage abruptly went awry, there’s actually a silver lining in the story.
According to the TMZ, Johnson’s response to Lozada’s pregnancy was rather bittersweet. Just days after she made the big announcement, the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver made it a priority to congratulate his ex-wife with a gift for her new baby. When asked of his sentiments toward her pregnancy, he responded quite amicably.
“I’m super happy for her, I will always love her and wish her nothing but the best,” he said. “I have unisex Louboutin infant spikes ready as my gift.” When asked about his lines of communication with his ex-wife, he set the record straight and clarified his sole purpose for the gift offering. “No communication with her in over a year and the father doesn’t matter; I just need to style and dress the baby,” he quipped.
Lozada and Crawford have been dating for almost a year. The couple’s first child is expected to arrive in March of 2014.
