Evangeline Lilly Slams Women’s Health Cover For ‘Best Butt Ever’ Headline [Video]

Evangeline Lilly slammed her own Women’s Health cover because of the tasteless remark the publication made about her backside.

Regardless of what you think about the former Lost star’s posterior, the actress isn’t exactly thrilled that the magazine took the time to write “Best. Butt. Ever.” on the cover with a big black arrow pointing to the body part in question. In fact, Evangeline seems to think the whole thing was downright tacky.

Lilly discussed her displeasure with Women’s Health while promoting The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Conan. The actress told O’Brien that she wanted something classy for her cover. Instead, she got an arrow pointing straight at her butt.

“They go, ‘Best. Butt. Ever.’ and they have an arrow going to your butt. I’m just curious — is that something they tell you before you do the shoot?” Conan asked while holding up the magazine in question.

“Do you think I would have done the shoot if they said, ‘Oh, by the way, we’re gonna say ‘Best Butt Ever!’ and put a big arrow to your behind.’ You know, every woman is after a kind of classy image. I didn’t want T & A on my cover. It’s a women’s magazine, not ‘Maxim,'” Evangeline Lilly replied.

According to The Huffington Post, this isn’t the first time someone at Women’s Health felt the need to comment on an actress’ rump for the cover of the magazine. The same thing apparently happened to Fast and Furious 6 star Elsa Pataky back in June.

One thing Evangeline Lilly is definitely happy about is her part in director Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The actress tackles the role of Elf warrior Tauriel in the flick, a role that was specifically crafted for the motion picture.

During her chat with E! Online at the premiere of Jackson’s flick, Lilly expressed just how overwhelmingly excited she was to land a part in the big-budget fantasy. According to the actress, playing an elf was something she’d dreamed about since her youth.

“It feels surprising and overwhelming and exciting. I was a massive Tolkien fan. The Hobbit was… my favorite book as a little girl and the Silvan Elves were my favorite characters in the book. I had fantasized about being a Silvan Elf when I was a little girl so this is a dream come true,” she explained at the premiere.

Do you think the recent Women’s Health cover featuring The Hobbit star Evangeline Lilly and her so-called “best butt ever” is tacky?
