Rebecca Mader Joins ‘Once Upon A Time’ Cast As Villain

Rebecca Mader is the latest Lost alum to jump over to the cast of Once Upon a Time.

The actress, who played Charlotte Lewis on Lost, will appear on the ABC drama that brings fairy tales to life. She will join fellow Lost actress Emilie de Ravin, who played Claire on Lost and is Belle on Once Upon a Time.

Rebecca Mader expressed her excitement to be joining Once Upon a Time.

“I couldn’t be more excited and thrilled to be joining the cast of #OUAT,” she tweeted on Thursday. “Christmas came early this year.”

This has been a busy week for Once Upon a Time casting. Earlier in the week the show announced that Alexandra Metz has been picked to play Rapunzel in an episode later this year.

The casting decision was met with a backlash from a subset of the show’s fans, who noted that picking a black actress to play the traditionally white Rapunzel was a curious choice. Some were a bit more harsh, with some racist replies to the casting decision showing up on Twitter.

“It matters because you’re casting a character inaccurately. Casting a black woman to play the part of Rapunzel, makes no sense whatsoever,” wrote on fan.

The Originals alum Metz is slated to appear in an episode airing after the show goes on hiatus for the winter.

Earlier this year, Once Upon a Time announced another curious choice. The show cast shock rocker Marilyn Manson as the voice of the villain Shadow for next season. Shadow is a demonic spirit that works for Peter Pan and helps abduct children.

Though he is known mostly for his albums, Marilyn Manson has also done some work in movies, contributing to the soundtrack for Resident Evil.

According to E! Online, Rebecca Mader will also play a villainess.
