Kanye West Gets A Little Advice From Nick Cannon On Twitter

Kanye West might be a genius, but that doesn’t mean he should tell everyone about it.

The “Bound 2” rapper has a tendency to rub people the wrong way. Even West’s so-called friends aren’t exactly thrilled with guy’s narcissistic behavior these days. When you constantly run around telling people how brilliant you are, these things tend to happen.

According to Metro, Kanye West recently received some friendly words of advice from comedian Nick Cannon. Although the America’s Got Talent host has nothing but love for the rapper, he doesn’t necessarily think all of this “genius” talk is really warranted.

“I love Kanye West like a brother and been one of his biggest fans and friends since day one, but genius is eternal patience. Real geniuses don’t have to tell everyone that they are a genius,” Cannon wrote.

Realizing that folks would probably take his posts the wrong way, Cannon decided to inject a little humor into the situation. Regardless of what you think of the comedian, at least he knows when he may have firmly inserted his foot directly into his mouth.

“Maybe I should’ve just called him and told him that in private. Oops, my bad! Twitter-stream-of-consciousness. I just got online and saw all these Kanye West interviews and I was inspired to rant,” Cannon explained to his followers.

Mariah Carey’s husband also stated, “Oh but don’t think it was the hacker saying all that crazy stuff about Thanksgiving and Kanye. That was me!”

According to Idolator, Kanye West managed to draw the ire of fans and detractors alike when he boldly proclaimed that he was a “creative genius” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Since everyone and their first cousin had something snarky to say on the subject, the rapper decided to clarify his statements during a recent radio interview.

West explained:

“My creative genius is creating around geniuses. Using creative geniuses to express, getting out of their way. If someone is more talented than me at stage design, at art direction, at playing the guitar, at production, at rapping, at anything that it is, I will step out of their way. I’ll ask as many questions as possible. I’ll send Drake 10 tracks, and ask him to write every one of those choruses.”

Kanye West fans can currently catch the rapper on-tour with Kendrick Lamar. If you’re lucky, then you’ll get to hear the guy rant about everything from Nike executives to Bruno Mars. On that note, do you think the rapper is a “creative genius?”
