Demi Lovato Reveals: I Have Bipolar Disease

In October 2010 Demi Lovato checked herself into a rehab center where she stayed until January and now the Disney TV star and singer has revealed that she suffered from bipolar disease.

The announcement, made to PEOPLE ads to her list of issues including anorexia and bulimia.

Lovato told PEOPLE:

“I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar,” while mentioning that she has “battled depression from a very young age.”

She goes on to mention:

“Looking back it makes sense…There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning.”

“I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control.”

Good luck to Lovato as she departs Sonny With A Chance to focus on her music career, perhaps cutting out half her work schedule will give her more time to focus on helping herself.
