Police Investigating Death Threats Against ‘Friday’ Singer Rebecca Black

Some stupid internet users who hide behind their computer screens to make threats against people are one step closer to being arrested. 13-year-old YouTube sensation Rebecca Black may have sung the worst song of all time (Friday) but that doesn’t mean she should have her life threatened and police agree.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Rick Martinez:

“In essence, the threats were related to getting the music off the Internet or they were going to kill her,” and “We can’t validate how serious they are, but we do take it seriously.”

According to Martinez, one threat was phoned in, while another was emailed, while he added, “In the meantime, we are keeping an extra eye out for her” as is the entire Anaheim Police Department.

While I’m a big fan of internet anonymity (I use TOR), there are certain times when handing over a persons IP address and other information to police should be done immediately, such as the case of internet cowards threatening the life of a 13-year-old-girl.

In any case, the last joke is on the haters as Rebecca Black has landed a big time agent and her name is now all over the place, proving that sometimes stupid mistakes and bad publicity can earn you millions.
