Wii price drop arrives early – console now $169
The good news: that Wii price drop that was rumored for May just got here early, with retailers today dropping the console’s price like it’s hot. The bad news: it’s not the drop to $150 (from $199) we were anticipating – instead, retailers have slashed Nintendo’s machine to $169.
But hey, this is mostly good news. Consumers get a cheaper console (a platform with many underrated games), and Nintendo can perhaps rediscover some of the momentum it’s lost in the last year or so with Wii.
Whether it does or not, you sense Wii 2 really is close now. Here’s where you can pick up your cheaper-than-ever Wii:
Gamestop
Amazon
Best Buy
Toys ‘R’ Us
Target
