Michael Jackson Was A ‘Drug Addict,’ Says Conrad Murray

Michael Jackson was a “drug addict” who accidentally ended his own life, explained Conrad Murray during his first post-prison interview.

Although the doctor was previously convicted of killing the King of Pop, Murray insists that he wasn’t responsible for ending the singer’s life. In his opinion, Michael Jackson was a “drug addict” whose lifestyle resulted in his own untimely demise.

According to the New York Daily News, Conrad Murray insists that he was very close to the pop star prior to his death in June of 2009. While a jury found him guilty of killing Jackson, the doctor believes the singer was ultimately responsible for his own death.

“I did not kill Michael Jackson. He was a drug addict. Michael Jackson accidentally killed Michael Jackson,” explained to the folks at the Daily Mail.

During his post-prison interview with the publication, Murray said Michael Jackson feared that his maids and staff would sell his soiled underwear to his legion of fans online. This resulted in the pop star living in a world filled with paranoia and anxiety. This resulted in an unusually close relationship between Conrad and Jackson during the singer’s final days.

“You want to know how close we were?. I held his penis every night to fit a catheter because he was incontinent at night,” Murray explained during his chat with the Daily Mail.

The cardiologist continued, “He was in crisis at the end of his life, filled with panic and misery… By the end Michael Jackson was a broken man. I tried to protect him but instead I was brought down with him.”

According to the Digital Journal, Conrad Murray is still convinced that the King of Pop delivered the lethal dose of propofol himself after the doctor refused to give him the drug. Murray also believes that Jackson was suffering from Demerol withdrawal, which ultimately resulted in his bout with insomnia.

To make matters worse for Michael Jackson, Murray said the overwhelming pressure he felt regarding his upcoming tour added to the singer’s poor health. As a result, he was overwhelmed by “insomnia, chills, and frequent mood swings.” Towards the end of his life, Jackson only weighed 126 pounds.

Conrad Murray was released from prison on October 28. Although a jury found him guilty of killing Michael Jackson, he is in the process of appealing his conviction.

What do you think about Conrad Murray’s remarks about Michael Jackson’s final days? Do you think the doctor is ultimately responsible for the death of the King of Pop?
