Fail: Motivational Company lays off 34 People

Excellence in Motivation, a Dayton Ohio company specializing in employee motivation hasn’t been able to motivate its clients well enough through the recession, and has announced layoffs for 34 people out of a workforce of 210.
Excellence in Motivation “develops and implements performance improvement programs using a combination of internal human resources and external strategic partners.” In short, they motivate people.
The layoffs came about after a client cancelled its 2009 travel-reward program for employees.
According to Dayton Daily News, those losing their jobs were entitled to severance pay, health insurance coverage for at least a month, and help in finding new jobs.
I guess motivating new business was beyond their means. Fail, with a dose of irony for good measure.
