William Balfour arrested over Jennifer Hudson family murders

William Balfour, the estranged brother-in-law of Jennifer Hudson has been arrested and charged over the October murders of Hudson’s family.

William Balfour had been married to Hudson’s sister Julia and was previously questioned after the murders but not charged. At the time of the murders he was on parole for a previous attempted murder conviction.

Among the dead back in October were Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson, and 7-year-old nephew Julian King. Julian King was initially missing from the scene and it was hoped that he had somehow survived, however four days later his body was found dumped in a stolen car.

According to Reuters quoting The Chicago Tribune, investigators have evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon used in the murders.
