Teresa Giudice, Husband Face Two More Federal Fraud Charges

Teresa Giudice and her husband were recently hit with two more counts of fraud.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars encountered the additional federal charges earlier this week. The couple was reportedly slapped with one count of loan fraud and one count of bank fraud. The new charges reportedly came down the legal pipeline Monday.

According to the New York Daily News, Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe allegedly prepared a loan application that stated she made $15,000 as a real estate agent. Authorities stated that the reality television star wasn’t employed at the time.

Teresa Giudice’s lawyer Henry Klingeman said she intends to plead not guilty to the new charges. The couple was previously indicted on a whopping 39 charges over the summer.

“She looks forward to defending herself at the trial, scheduled for February 24, 2014. Beyond that, we will answer all the charges in court, not out,” Klingeman said in a recent statement.

Teresa’s lawyer added, “As she did with respect to the allegations contained in the original indictment, [she] intends to plead ‘not guilty’ to the allegations.”

E! Online reports that Joe Giudice also intends to plead not guilty to the additional counts of bank and loan fraud. Miles Feinstein, Joe’s lawyer, released the statement following Monday’s indictment.

Despite all the charges the couple is currently facing, Teresa Giudice and her family are going about their daily lives as if nothing happened. The Inquisitr previously reported that the couple went on vacation back in August, leading some to believe that the couple is in denial.

Teresa addressed the matter in a blog post over at Bravo not too long ago.

“I’m not in denial about it, I know it’s serious and terrible, and I wouldn’t wish this situation on anyone. If you’ve ever been in any kind of legal situation, even a divorce, you know it can suck your soul dry faster than almost anything else. It’s not a pretty process. But I choose to stay positive,” she explained in September.

Teresa Giudice told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that the impending court case was causing her an incredible amount of anxiety. This reportedly caused her to experience a plethora of sleepless nights.

“I can’t fall apart, Andy. I have my daughters. They mean the world to me. Maybe out of all this. I don’t know. You go through things in life, I don’t know why. I’m asking like, why is this happening to me?” she said during the interview.
