You can watch the South Africa vs. Pakistan live online, saving the hassle of a trip to Dubai to see the two squads face off.
The teams are competing in the first game of a two-match Twenty20 International series. The match starts at 20:00 local time (16:00 GMT), which means fans of the South African and Pakistani clubs will be sitting down in the evening to South Africa vs. Pakistan live online. The match is listed on ESPN 3.
A win could help propel Pakistan toward the top of the ICC Twenty20 rankings. The team currently sits No. 3 on the leaderboard, behind No. 1 Sri Lanka and No. 2 India.
Faf du Plessis, South Africa’s captain, said he expects Pakistan to play well despite collapsing in a 117-run loss in the final match of a recent one-day international series.
“Pakistan are a dangerous T20 team,” Du Plessis said. “They have a lot of match-winners, that’s what T20 cricket is about. “They (Pakistan) have the danger-men that can come in and score 80 off a few balls or run in and take four quick wickets. We are going to have to play really well to beat them.”
Besides improvement in the rankings, both the teams will also seek to get tuned up for the fifth edition of the World Twenty20, which will be held in Bangladesh in March and April 2014.
