Avril Lavigne Talks About Forgettable Wedding To Nickelback Singer

Avril Lavigne appeared on Chelsea Lately Tuesday night to push her new album, entitled Avril Lavigne, that was released at the beginning of November. While there, Avril also offered details on her recent wedding to fellow Canadian and fellow musician Chad Kroger, lead singer of the band Nickelback.

Well, whatever details Avril Lavigne could remember

“It was three days long. And I don’t remember much of that. Oops,” Avril told host Chelsea Handler. “It was in a castle, south of France, it was by the water. We got married at 9 o’clock at night, partied until 6 in the morning. Kinda remember the rest, but not.”

Don’t worry, Avril, we’ve thought Chad was forgettable for years!

Sorry, that was mean.

“The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap | We’ll all stay skinny ’cause we just won’t eat.”

That just must be how it is, but who knew that the man behind the hit “Rockstar” took his work seriously enough to be a method writer? No one else takes it seriously…

OK, that needs to stop.

Fans may remember Avril Lavigne’s first marriage to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley in 2006 (clearly she has a type: Canadian singers who play guitar). Avril and Deryck split in 2010 and Ms. Lavigne was later linked to Brody Jenner, whose name adorns Avril Lavigne’s rib cage in the form of a tattoo.

Avril Lavigne features the single “Let Me Go,” a duet and her first collaboration with her new husband. It’s the album’s third single and was co-written by Avril Lavigne, Chad Kroeger and David Hodges, formerly of the band Evanescence. Kroeger produced the majority of the tracks on Avril Lavigne and Avril clearly loves working with her husband.

“I’m obviously just a solo artist and he’s in a band and he’s used to performing music with his band members, and for me to have somebody up on stage with me or shooting a video, it’s cool. It’s fun,” Lavigne told CBSNews.com.

“I feel like he really believes in me. He’s very encouraging and because he’s also a singer and a performer I feel like he’s different than your average producer and we can kind of tap into something different together because of that.”

What do you think of Avril Lavigne’s new music? How does Avril Lavigne compare to her other albums? Did you know Avril Lavigne collaborated with Marilyn Manson for her song “Bad Girl”?
