Lady Gaga Doesn’t Want Madonna’s Throne Or Perez Hilton’s Grief

Recently, Lady Gaga sat down with Howard Sten to give a pleasantly candid interview to the shock jock of radio. During the chat, Lady Gaga discussed her eccentric album Artpop, and her on going one-sided feuds with Madonna and Perez Hilton.

Of Madonna, Lady Gaga expressed that it was never a feud that started on her side. In the media, Madonna has made under the breath comments about Lady Gaga when asked about the parallels between her career and the “Born This Way” singer. During the interview, Howard Stern alluded that Madonna was jealous because the “Paparazzi” singer has acquired her demographic. Lady Gaga decided to use Stern’s point as a springboard for her own reflection on the Madonna controversy:

“I think she’s more aggravated that I’m not upset that she doesn’t like me. ‘Cause I don’t care that she doesn’t like me.”

When asked about the feud with Kelly Osbourne, she said that most feuds are not personal. “All the feuds that people write about are very one sided. It’s me over here and somebody is feuding with themselves about me.”

As for her feud with Perez Hilton, Gaga dismissed the long running back and forth. Back in 2011, the two former friends went their separate ways after a horrible interview for Perez’s show All Access. Then things heated up on Twitter this summer after Perez blasted her new music. In November, she alluded that the celebrity blogger tried to move in next door and generally threatens her existence, having said to USA Today:

“It’s fine to hate me afar. Everyone can hate me from afar. But the second you try to move in next door to me, I know you’re getting too close, and it’s not safe.”

However, when it all comes down to it, Gaga told Howard Stern that Madonna is at the center of all of her supposed feuds. Madonna has championed on those who think Gaga is copying her style both musically and fashionably. Over the years, Madge’s fans drew comparisons that Gaga’s 2011 single “Born This Way” sounded a lot like Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” As of late, fans have said that Gaga’s “Applause” is similar to the 2012 track “Girl Gone Wild” from Madonna.

Previously, Madonna quipped about Gaga’s “Born This Way” track:

“I’m a really big fan of (‘Born This Way’). I’m glad that I helped Gaga write it.”

The icon later went on to perform a mash-up of “Express Yourself” and “Born This Way” during her tour.

Howard Stern made sure to give Lady Gaga the floor on Madonna’s negative comments about her career and “copy cat style.” Lady Gaga hinted that in a lot of ways it goes beyond a few remarks and has more to do with whether or not Gaga is replacing Madonna’s stature in the industry:

“There’s always this pissing match. ‘Did she take her torch? Is she the new her? Is she gonna outlast her or not?’ There’s a thing with some people that I’m a ‘threat to the throne’ I don’t want your f—ing throne!”

Well that settles it — Lady Gaga doesn’t want anywhere near Madonna’s throne, so all subsequent feuds can just die out from now on, right?
