Mariska Hargitay Honored With Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

Mariska Hargitay received one of the highest honors one can receive in Hollywood, the walk of fame star. Her lifelong friend and Million Dollar Baby actress Hilary Swank paid tribute to Mariska.

Swank and Hargitay have been close friends ever since they met and worked together on the set of ER. Marisa Hargitay is now better known as Detective Olivia Benson from Law and Order: SVU, which will soon celebrate its fifteenth season.

Mariska was born into fame as the daughter of the Hollywood icon of the 1950s, Jayne Mansfield. She was tragically killed in a car crash when Mariska was just three-years-old.

Swank said of her friend that she had “star-like qualities,” and that “Mariska is rare that in her success she finds a way to inspire and empower other people.”

Hilary continued to extol the virtues of her now officially Hollywood recognized friend, Mariska Hargitay:

There is one wish I have when it comes to Mariska, it would have been wonderful to meet her mom, who from the pictures we see, had the same bright light. But it is so beautiful that today their two stars are shining together here on Hollywood Boulevard for the rest of time.

In response to those heartfelt words Mariska responded, having wiped away her tears:

The thing about our stars is they exist in constellations, they have more meaning together than they do alone, and the one that is most obvious to me is the constellation that I make with my mother. This very precious and very private and very public constellation of two is now a beautiful symbol of us together in this very special place.
