[Damn Cool Dept.] Earth caught flaunting her gravity – we have the video!

As we use technology more and more to study those parts of our world that we can’t see with our eyes we get to see some pretty incredible things, much like this video from the European Space Agency’s GOCE satellite.
The satellite has been collecting earth’s gravitational data for a year now and that data has allowed ESA to produce the most accurate model of Earth’s geoid ever.
A geoid is, essentially, a surface that describes the way the Earth’s oceans would shake out if there were no tides or currents and if the oceans could travel over continents: If gravity was all that mattered.
