Married Child Rapist Sentenced After Bragging To Girlfriend About Having Sex With Children

Kirkland, WA — A convicted child rapist has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he bragged to his girlfriend about having sex with children. He also planned to rape the woman’s daughter.

A King County jury convicted Ryan Firoved of attempted first-degree child rape. The 37-year-old Kirkland man arrived at a motel room expecting to have sex with his girlfriend’s daughter, but was greeted by police instead.

The girl’s mother contacted police in late June 2012, saying Firoved told her three months earlier that he had raped a 12-year-old girl while on a trip. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Firoved made graphic sexual comments and claimed he had sex with several other young girls. He tried to explain himself to his girlfriend.

“I guess you could say I’m a pedophile, but at least I’m not a predator,” Firoved said, according to the girlfriend’s account. “People come to me and I make it consensual.”

Ryan Firoved then suggested he would “make it consensual” with his girlfriend’s daughter. She gave police a number of graphic text messages from Firoved, and continued to go along with his suggestion as police listened in.

During a phone call on July 3, Firoved became concerned that police were listening. After some time, he began telling his girlfriend what he wanted to do to her daughter. They arranged to meet at a motel, and he was arrested after a brief altercation with police.

Ryan Firoved claimed he went to the motel to break up with the woman and denied having sexual contact with her daughter.

“It is made up, sick and a fantasy, but at the end of the day I never touched anyone,” he said.

The Seattle Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force had been actively investigating Firoved after he responded to a fake ad posted by detectives posing as a young girl looking to have sex with an older man.

Ryan Firoved’s wife filed for divorce in March. He was previously convicted for a 1999 sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl he met online. He was initially classified as a Level-II sex offender, but after a review board determined the sex was “consensual in nature,” he was bumped down to Level-I.
