Avril Lavigne Lyrics Written By Chad Kroeger? New Album Release [VIDEO]

Avril Lagigne’s new self titled album features lyrics cowritten and songs produced by husband and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. As reported by the InquisitrLavigne and Kroeger were married in July in South France. Avril Lavigne is the fifth album released by the Canadian born singer who is also competing against her country mate, Celine Dion, for new music this week.

Kroeger worked on the lyrics and production of the album, a two year endeavor for Lavigne. Her lead single Here’s ToNever Growing Up was released on April 9, 2013. It reached the Billboard Top Twenty charts. Critics gave mixed reviews on this song. Some applauded the poppy, fun tune, while others were hoping for Avril to actually grow up lyrically. You can check out a track by track review over at Billboard.

Lavigne and Kroeger can be heard actually singing together on the single, Let Me Go. Kroeger collaborated on 8 of the 13 tracks on the album. His style can definitely be heard throughout with a much stronger “Nickelback” sound on some of the tracks. The effect is probably going to be very polarizing for some.

Avril Lavigne also features a track with Marilyn Manson, called bad girl. Billboard said about the collaboration with the well known shock rocker:

The high-profile collaboration with Marilyn Manson is salacious, sloppy, muddied rock music — as it damn well should be. As Lavigne writhes in the spotlight, Manson shrieks his encouragement, and the rubber-necking audience is treated to a spitballing session that turned into glorious chaos.

All in all it seems that the album is being received well. Lavigne continues to live in her playful, youthful world, but also manages to ironically do a little growing up on the album. By bring in husband Chad Kroeger, she expands her horizons a little and stretches herself into some new areas. Download the new album, Avril Lavigne today.
