‘Desolation Of Smaug’ New Character Posters And Live Fan Event
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug has seven new, stunning character posters which have been shared by director Peter Jackson on his Facebook page. Additionally, today is the big day in which fans will get to see new footage as the live event promised by the director takes place in cities around the world.
First to the the new posters. Desolation Of Smaug will premiere new characters and some returning from The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
There is also new posters for Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit), played by Martin Freeman, Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage).
The exciting thing is to look at the brand new characters. Extremely popular with fans and much anticipated Bard the Bowman, played by Welsh actor Luke Evans makes his debut (finally!).
We also have a new poster for Lee Pace (Thranduil), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), and Orlando Bloom, who reprises his role from Lord Of The Rings as Legolas.
Desolation Of Smaug continues the story of Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit, who joins dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield and his company in the quest to reclaim their home in Erebor, which had been taken from them by the evil dragon Smaug (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch).
The film is the second in the Peter Jackson trilogy and follows last year’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
As if the new posters didn’t make fans excited enough, today is the big worldwide fan event, planned in Peter Jackson’s now known grand style.
The Kiwi director is beloved by followers for going above and beyond to keep fans in the loop with his productions, with video blogs and special events like the one taking place today.
As reported by The Inquisitr Jackson announced on his Facebook page:
“We have got a pretty cool fan event planned for Monday, November 4, and I would like to invite you to join me and many members of the cast in a special live presentation. We’ll be appearing before live audiences in cities around the world, including London, New York, Los Angeles and, of course, here in Wellington.”
The appearances by cast members are broken up as follows:
New York City (AMC Theater) – Anderson Cooper will host the event with Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas).
Los Angeles (Pacific Theaters At The Grove) – with Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel)
London (Odeon West End) – with Andy Serkis (Gollum), James Nesbitt (Bofur), Lee Pace (Thranduil), and Luke Evans (Bard the Bowman)
Wellington (Embassy Theater) – with Peter Jackson
