Jennifer Love Hewitt is out of a job. The actresses Lifetime TV series The Client List has been cancelled by the network. The show aired for just two seasons before producers gave it the ax.

The Client List, a racy drama about a single mother who turns to escorting to pay the bills after her husband leaves suddenly, was born out of a Lifetime movie which also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The short-lived racy series finished its second season in June and was left in limbo following the season finale. Jennifer Love Hewitt not only acted in the series, she was also listed as an executive producer.

Cancellation of the show shouldn’t come as a surprise, Hewitt and the Lifetime Network famously disagreed over the direction of the show earlier in the year. According to Deadline Hewitt wanted her fiancee to play the baby’s daddy in the show, however, the shows producers and network didn’t agree with her direction for the show.

Producers and writers attempted to find a suitable storyline to keep the show alive but ultimately agreed that their was not enough direction to keep it interesting.

Jennifer Love Hewitt will likely end up in a new series, The Client List was an early hit for the network and she has found prior TV success with The Ghost Whisperer and Party of Five. We know what Jennifer Love Hewitt did last summer, now we wait to see what comes of her career on the small screen in the future.

In the meantime, Jennifer Love Hewitt is expecting a baby with Brian Hallisay, her co-star on the show. The couple say they are “excited for the future” and starting a family together. They give no clues as to their future moves in Hollywood.
