Keanu Reeve’s 47 Ronin has been plagued with production problems, but the new trailer gives a pretty exciting look at the new samurai movie.
A new 47 Ronin trailer hit the internet today and Keanu is at his butt-kicking best. The man behind the Matrix slices and dices his way through monsters and dragons.
A trailer starts: “Those who enslaved you killed our leader and banished us from our land… Join us and we will have our revenge.”
Rolling Stone notes that 47 Ronin has gone through several reshoots and now has a budget well over $200 million. Producers wanted the final battle scene to be redone and they also wanted Keanu Reeves’ character to have more of a romantic story line.
Filming 47 Ronin may have been a bit bumpy, but Keanu said that he had a great time on the new film.
In a recent Reddit AMA, Keanu said: “You know, shooting 47 Ronin was a great experience. It’s a story that is very special and close to the Japanese actors, and I could feel that and respected that during the course of the filmmaking. And it brought another element to the filming, it heightened it even more than it usually is. Which was great.”
Here’s the new 47 Ronin trailer.
In addition to the new trailer, 47 Ronin also get a new poster.
