Jawbone Grabs $49 Million From Andreessen Horowitz

Jawbone, the mobile accessory company best known for their noise isolating, stylish bluetooth headsets has just been infused with $49 million in cash by investment firm Andreesen Horowitz. Marc Andreesen and Ben Horowitz became angel investors in the company back in 2007.

With the newest round of funding Jawbone has raised nearly $100 million while selling more than 10 million devices in just three years.

The funding comes to a company that doesn’t promise low quality products created with cost cutting measures to develop devices, but rather depends on great quality devices that are stylish and often quite expensive at more than $100 per headphone for some of their newest devices, a price I personally find worth the investment.

The company’s Jambox speaker, released last year has sold better than any device of it’s kind and now the company is developing a product called Thoughts that uses audio Tweeting and Blackberry Messenger.

It will be interesting to see how Jawbone uses their new found wealth to develop the next generation of Smartphone accessories.

What would you like to see from the company in the near future?
