Kim Kardashian: ‘I Was Shaking The Entire Time’ At Surprise B’Day Bash

Kim Kardashian is leaving all the arrangements for her forthcoming wedding up to fiance Kanye West – or so she says.

She was on the red carpet at Tao Las Vegas on Friday night, celebrating her 33rd birthday at a birthday bash. She insisted that she and Kanye have barely discussed anything to do with wedding plans. And she added that the couple had not even determined how long an engagement they would have.

If it happens at all, this will be West’s first marriage. On the other hand, Kim Kardashian is an old hand at the game, this being her third marriage to date. And she is not conforming to the convention of marriage first and then children after, since she has already given birth to the couple’s first child, North West (!), last June.

Her first marriage to music producer Damon Thomas in 2004, lasted four years. For her second attempt with NBA player Kris Humphries, she managed to rack up another unusual achievement, with the engagement of 90 days lasting longer than the wedding. That lasted all of 72 days.

Given Kim Kardashian’s marital record, what must Kanye be thinking? She said the proposal was an “absolute, complete surprise.” Even her family understood they were going to a surprise birthday party.

“We honestly haven’t had a moment to talk about it or even breathe, so we haven’t really talked about it, but whatever he wants,” she told PEOPLE, adding that the only sure thing is that her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, will walk her down the aisle.

“I was shaking so much, shaking the entire time,” she said. “Like, ‘Is this really happening?’ It was like an out-of-body experience.”

Following Kanye West’s concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Kardashian and West– together with sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian, Lamar Odom and mom Kris Jenner – went to Tao to celebrate her birthday.

After the entourage entered the packed club, she was treated to an oversize birthday cake, champagne and a litany of West songs sung by DJ Five.
