Lolo Jones’ US Bobsled Team Confirmed For 2014 World Cup, Olympics The Next Step?

Lolo Jones’ US bobsled team has been confirmed for the 2014 World Cup.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Lolo Jones also has an acting career and she’ll be featured in the Left Behind reboot along with Nicolas Cage.

Lolo Jones used to do 100-meter hurdles as her primary event but she finished fourth in the 2013 London Olympics. As such, Lolo Jones decided on a career change and has been preparing for the US bobsled team by putting on weight, with her goal to be at 160 pounds:

“I’m the heaviest ever in my life. It took so much work. I’m three pounds away from my ultimate goal.”

Her dream goal is to reach 170 pounds. This extra weight will, of course, be muscle and not fat:

“I’m pumped about this muscle weight. My abs are still there. I’m still cut, just super solid.”

Lolo Jones has been downing 9,000 calories per day during her training. But it’s not just protein shakes and other healthy food she’s been chowing down on, she’s been inhaling several double bacon cheeseburgers a day. She needs all that extra muscle in order to push that 400-pound bobsled as fast as possible.

All this eating and working out has paid off since Lolo Jones was confirmed for the World Cup team ahead of the 2014 Sochi Olympics:

Lolo Jones will be one of six push athletes on the US bobsled team, joining Emily Azevedo, Katie Eberling, Aja Evans, Kristi Koplin and Lauryn Williams. Elana Meyers, Jamie Greubel and Jazmine Fenlator will be serving as drivers.

Unfortunately, Lolo Jones is not guaranteed a spot for the 2014 Olympics. She’ll have to prove herself during the World Cup in order to make the national Olympic team:

“I do realize the risk of putting myself out there. It’s going to be crazy if I make the team or don’t make the team. Either way is going to create a fire storm. But I’m the way I’ve always been. I want to go to the Olympics and I want to win a medal and that has never changed.”

Well, hopefully Lolo Jones won’t get into another bar fight and spoil any chance of the Olympics.
