E L James Takes To Twitter, Confirms Jamie Dornan As Christian Grey

Author E L James has officially confirmed that Jamie Dornan will take on the role as Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the best-selling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

On Thursday James tweeted: “Stow your twitchy palms ladies…our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1.”

The 31-year-old actor steps in to replace Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam. He backed out of the film on October 12, leaving the door wide open for plenty of more speculation.

Dornan, a former Calvin Klein model, is best known for his role as Sheriff Graham on the hit ABC series Once Upon A Time.

Interesting fact time, Jamie Dornan is married to the ex-wife of actor Colin Farrell. Before his marriage he was linked to various Hollywood actresses including Keira Knightley, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.

Dornan is no stranger to the big screen, appearing in Sofia Coppola’s 2006 film Marie Antoinette.

Fan reactions were sure to be all over the place for the selection, however, they have fared better than Charlie Hunnam. The Sons of Anarchy actor was criticized almost from the second the announcement was made.

In the meantime it will be interesting to see how movie producers are able to take the erotic thriller and turn it into something people actually enjoy on the big screen. Fifty Shades of Grey is just as famous for its bad writing as it is for its erotic storyline.

Do you plan on seeing Fifty Shades of Grey in theaters? Do you think E L James and her team made the right decision in casting Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey?
