Man Searching For Stolen Phone Falls In Love With Woman Who Ended Up With It

Here’s a short, but quirky tale: Man’s smartphone is stolen on train, man sees girl who wound up with it, forgets about phone, instantly falls in love.

Niklaus Knecht, 24, lost his smartphone on a train heading to Zurich in Switzerland after he fell asleep. When he woke up, he found that someone had slashed open his jacket pocket, and that his phone had been stolen.

Whether she stole it herself or it was sold to her, the phone ended up in the hands of a Moroccan girl who started using the device’s camera. The phone’s picture upload function was still turned on, so Knecht was able to see all of the photos she took.

And now he’s totally love-struck.

“She obviously doesn’t realise that all the pictures she is taking are ending up in my dropbox and it’s a pretty good general view of an everyday life in Morocco,” Knecht said.

“I am really keen to find out who she is and more about her. I’d like to meet her and am prepared to travel to Morocco to see her. I think it would be interesting to find out how she ended up getting the phone, although I’m sure she had nothing to do with the original theft,” he said.

“I guess she simply bought it from whoever did steal it.”

Knecht and a friend have since set up a Facebook page in an effort to find the mystery Moroccan girl. He said that over 10,000 people from Morocco have viewed the page, so he thinks it’s only a matter of time before she finds out about him.

“It would be great to meet her and of course she’s welcome to keep the phone,” he said. “I am just keen to find out a little bit more about how she got the phone and I think it would be an interesting project as part of my schoolwork.”

Yeah right, dude. You’re so going to marry this mystery Moroccan smartphone girl.
