Todd Herremans’ Parking Valet Stole $225,000 From Him


Todd Herremans lost over $225,000 from his bank account between 2009 and 2012, to a parking lot attendant who was responsible for parking Philadelphia Eagles player’s cars.

Robert Von Ryan was charged with bank fraud on Tuesday in connection to the case. Von Ryan was employed to guard Eagles player’s automobiles at the team’s hotel in the city.

The 37-year-old is believed to have begun his numerous robberies back in late 2009, or possibly early 2010. He developed his master plan after coming across the offensive tackler’s bank account and routing numbers during his working hours.

Reportedly, Von Ryan then began to transfer funds from Herremans’ bank account into to his own, and continued to do so for over four years. An indictment explained that Von Ryan used his newfound wealth to make various purchases and to pay for his mounting bills.

Von Ryan was an employee for Staff One Incorporated at the time of the incident, and was granted access to the Eagles’ cars after they hired the company. However, he has since left the position.

Herremans only noticed the various financial discrepancies recently, and he then made an effort to retrieve his hard earned money.

U.S. Attorney, Zane David Memeger, who is now assisting Herremans’ efforts in court, has admitted that all $225,034.52 of Herremans money has been returned to the athlete.

Herremans opened up about the incident on Wednesday night, talking to ABC’s Action 6 News in Philadelphia, and he admits that he only has himself to blame.

The nine-year-veteran of the NFL commented, “Disappointed in myself, upset that someone would do that before you have to keep your keep your information locked up.”

Herremans went on to add that he didn’t notice the numerous withdrawals and transactions from his bank account, and that he finally started to suspect that something was amiss recently.

He added, “It was a combination of just unexplained expenses that I was talking to my financial advisor about, and then he started asking me about purchases and stuff.”

Von Ryan had a chequered past before he was employed by Staff One, and he his criminal history included theft. He is currently not in custody, and a court date is currently being orchestrated.

If he is found guilty, Von Ryan could be incarcerated for 30 years, face a $1,000,000 fine, as well as five years of supervised release.

According to an Eagles spokesperson, an insurance company fully reimbursed Herremans for the money that was stolen from him. The Eagles have since ceased their ties with Staff One.
