ObamaCare Insurance Site Host Has Checkered Past

ObamaCare insurance site HealthCare.gov has seen its share of problems, but something you might not be aware of is that its host has had a checkered past.

It seems President Obama wasn’t aware of the problems created with the ObamaCare insurance site HealthCare.gov. As a result there is a strong expectation that the insurance regulation signed into law via the ironically named Affordable Care Act will be postponed to fix the site. However, the site itself might not be the issue, as the problem seems to point to CGI’s checkered past.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, John McAffee turned down the GOP request to diagnose the HealthCare.org site issues. This could mean that they are trying to hide the elephant in the room by denying it exists.

The host behind HealthCare.gov has been proven to have a checkered past, and probably selected haphazardly in a hurry to get the whole system up and running. James Bagnola, a Texas-based corporate consultant, stated about the site’s host, “The morning I heard CGI was behind [HealthCare.gov], I said, my God, no wonder that thing doesn’t work.”

So what was wrong with CGI hosting HealthCare.gov? Other government contracts were made with the company before, and many of them turned sour. The host has been known for performance problems for a long time, and nobody told President Obama about them. The site had simply launched to a myriad of potential users who had trouble logging in or performing even the most basic functions necessary, like looking into ObamaCare facts. Apparently it had launched before it was ready.

Health Connector of Hawaii reported similar issues when the site for their insurance services had launched. Since then, the problems have been mostly fixed, but the Hawaii-based insurance provider isn’t blaming CGI.

A Canadian healthcare site faced problems from the start, citing a multi-million dollar contract for a website that never worked right and was eventually made obsolete after several delays. Visitors to ObamaCare‘s insurance site might find that oddly familiar. Problems similar to the HealthCare.gov site issues were also experienced by a Vermont health provider.

Don Turner, the Republican minority leader for Vermont in the House of Representatives, stated his plans for the underperforming site host:

“I’m going to demand answers. There were a number of deliverables (in the Vermont contract) that have been missed. We are preparing to ask some tough questions. There are a lot of things that don’t seem right about CGI.”

Apparently CGI has had issues in the past, and the ObamaCare insurance site is only the latest among them.
