Melissa Rycroft Announces Second Pregnancy

Melissa Rycroft has announced that she and Tye Strickland are expecting their second child. The couple will welcome the new addition to their family in spring 2014. Their first child, Ava Grace, was born in 2011.

The couple mentioned the possibility of having another child last winter, but they were concerned that Ava would not approve. In the family’s latest portrait, Ava seems proud to welcome her new sibling. She is wearing a shirt that says she was “promoted to big sister.”

Rycroft became famous during the thirteenth season of The Bachelor. Although she received the final rose and a marriage proposal, Jason Mesnick ended their relationship.

The breakup was especially humiliating, as Mesnick made the announcement during an episode After the Final Rose — with no warning. Mesnick explained to his devastated fiance that he was in love with The Bachelor runner-up Molly Malaney.

Following the very public breakup, the reality star eventually found love with Insurance agent Tye Strickland. The couple knew each other for years, but they never made a serious commitment. As reported by ABC News, the couple married in December 2009.

In addition to The Bachelor, Melissa Rycroft appeared in Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, Dancing With the Stars, and Bachelor Pad. She has also worked as a model, actress, and correspondent for Good Morning America.

Rycroft also wrote a book, titled My Reality, which is an autobiography. In the memoir, she discusses her participation in reality television and how it changed her life. The book was published in June 2012.

She also appeared with her husband in a reality program titled Melissa and Tye, which focuses on the couple’s relationship and family. The program is presented on CMT.

Melissa Rycroft had a few disappointments along the way, but she never gave up on her dreams. She continues to pursue her dream of becoming a Hollywood actress.
